Welcome to Rievaulx Canines,
a small representation of my 35 years in the
wonderful world of purebred dogs.
Enjoy your tour and stop to read some of
the articles that are representations
of my thoughts on matters involving dogs.
In 1968, while exhibiting cattle
and horses in 4H, I began my foray into the
world of dogs with Poodles. In
1973 I began a continuing association with the
Irish Wolfhound, successfully competing
with some top-ranked animals of this
breed, along with titling my Welsh
Springer Spaniel. During a brief respite from
the active dog show scene to concentrate
on family and the completion of my
education, I still found time to
exhibit and finish numerous dogs and co-breed
with others in the toy, sporting
and hound groups.
1990 marked my very active return
to the world of dog shows with an
involvement with Yorkshire Terriers.
As a small hobby breeder/exhibitor,
I have been rewarded with recognition
as Select Breeder twice from the
Yorkshire Terrier Club of America,
and Top Breeder twice for the regional
specialty club, Yorkshire Terrier
Club-Los Angeles, along with having three
Register of Merit awards for my
stock who have also won Stud Dog and
Brood bitch of the Year awards.
I also own dogs who have won the YTCA
and regional specialty clubs' Stud
Dog and Brood bitch classes numerous
times. My Yorkshire Terriers
have held top rankings in the USA every
year from 1997 through 2001.
Successfully competing in other
countries, I have eight Canadian Champions;
under FCI competition my stock
has been awarded a World Champion and
a Junior World Champion and four
FCI International Champion titles as
well as titles from Finland, Denmark,
Netherlands and Mexico. In 1998 I
finished my first terrier who went
on to be one of the top ranked USA
Cairn Terriers in 2001.
I am an active member of Yorkshire
Terrier Club of America,
Scottsdale Dog Fanciers Association,
Stewards Club of Arizona
and Lake Mathews KC in CA.
I am a past President for
Saluki League of Southern Arizona,
a past member of the
Irish Wolfhound Club of America
and Irish Wolfhound
Association of the West Coast.
I am also an AKC licensed judge
for multiple breeds.
In my private life I have a grown
son who is an American Sign Language
interpreter. I work as a
financial economic analyst as well as serving on
the boards of various charitable
organizations.
Regards and contact me if I can
provide any resources or answers to
questions you may have.
